Students Registration For July Intake 2010
On July 4 and 11, 2010, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Royal College of Medicine Perak opened its doors to about 370 new students. The new students registered for the six different courses offered at this campus, namely MBBS, Bachelor in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in Physiotherapy, Diploma in Pharmacy and Diploma in Radiography.

The Programmes were offered to SPM, STPM, Matriculation and Diploma holders. Two new programmes began taking in their pioneer batch of students. They were Bachelor in nursing (2010) and Diploma in Physiotherapy (2010) which received overwhelming response from students and parents. This brought the total number of courses offered at this campus to six as it had been originally planned.

Registration counters opened as early as 8.00 am on the registration day to cater to the new students as well as the returning students of the university. The registration staff had a busy day checking through the relevant documents of the new students; their status for programmes applied for; status on financial aid; E-CITIE, MUET and students’ welfare.

As the registration process was going on, the parents and other family members of the new students were kept busy with a briefing on the history and the significant milestones of UNIKL RCMP. A slides presentation was given by UNIKL RCMP Head of Campus/Dean Prof Dr Hashami Bohari. Also present at the briefing were the Deputy Dean Dr Muhammad Abdul Rahman and the Registrar Dr Ahmat Zamri Abdullah.

Parents and guests were also given a free medical check up at the premises by the medical and Nursing students of the university.

An Orientation Programme for all new students was conducted from the 5 to 15 July 2010 and a special Motivational Programme will be conducted by the Students Affair Department and RCMP Instructors at Teluk Dalam Resort, Pulau Pangkor from the 16 to 18 July 2010. The objective of this orientation programme is to give students the opportunity to acquaint themselves with life at the university; familiarize themselves with the use of the learning facilities and the overall learning environment at the campus. It is expected that such activities would help to extend their boundaries of knowledge through active interaction with their peers and instructors. Classes for the new intake of students will commence on July 19, 2010.

Student intake at UNIKL RCMP is done twice a year (January and July) and the next intake will be in January 2011.
